In this ongoing exploration, Reflection and Root traces a dialogue between the mirrored self and the material world.
Across decades of work, Maja Sofie has returned to the mirrored self-portrait to register subtle shifts of presence and emotion.
Each image becomes a record of inner change — moments where identity wavers, light alters memory, and the self appears to fade and reform.
The work continues, sustained by the quiet insistence to keep looking — to still do it.
